Laura & Oliver

Their Story:

When Oliver proposed to me I had no idea what I wanted for our wedding.  Even after looking through tons of wedding magazines I still wasn’t 100% sure what I wanted.  We aren’t your traditional couple so we didn’t want anything traditional like a church.  We decided to do a beach wedding because the beach is where it all started.

Our first date was in Santa Cruz, CA at the beach.  Oliver proposed to me at the same spot later on.  At the time that Oliver proposed to me I was pregnant.  We didn’t get engaged because I was pregnant, that’s just how it happened lol.  We decided to wait to get married until after our baby, Jaden, was born;  I didn’t want a fat belly in my wedding photos.  By the time Jaden was born and we started planning our wedding, we wanted her to be a part of it.  I consider us to be very family oriented people.  So the wedding became more about celebrating our lives together as the family we had become.  Jaden was and still is the center of our universe.  I couldn’t have imagined not having her as one of our flower girls even though she was only 18 months old.

The day of the wedding was all a blur.  Some parts were chaotic but it was so much fun!  One thing I remember most was not sleeping that night and making sure I hid from Oliver so he wouldn’t see me on our day.  Try doing that when you have a child!

What we wanted to accomplish?  I would say just celebrating us as a family!
